New Minimum Retroreflectivity Requirements in the MUTCD

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has just recently published the second revision to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) that establishes minimum retroreflectivity levels that must be maintained for traffic signs. Agencies have until 2012 to implement a sign assessment and management program to maintain signs at or above the minimum specified levels. The RoadVista model 922 Sign Retroreflectometer is the ultimate tool to ensure compliance with the MUTCD and is an integral part of any sign management program. Handheld Instruments: StripeMaster II

For comprehensive pavement-marking measurement capability, including a built-in GPS and printer, consider the StripeMaster II. The StripeMaster II measures retroreflectivity of pavement markings per ASTM E1710 and EN 1436 30-meter geometry. Providing accurate measurements on wet (per ASTM E2176 and ASTM E2177) or dry surfaces, the lightweight StripeMaster II has an RS-232C interface that allows data to be downloaded into any traffic inventory system.

The StripeMaster II is designed for quick and easy measurements with the touch of a button. This lightweight instrument comes with wheels to make the measurement process a breeze. An internal GPS and printer come standard, allowing the field user to quickly verify the data.

The internal memory will store up to 10,000 measurements before downloading to a computer. The data transfer is simple with our datalogging software. The StripeMaster II connects to any standard computer using an RS-232C interface. Our mapping software allows the user to plot the data on a clickable and printable map to quickly identify problem areas that need attention.

Microprocessor-controlled calibration, with internal GPS and printer, makes the StripeMaster II the finest instrument of its kind in the industry.
